We all begin as citizens of this world. The Lord Jesus Christ calls some to “renounce worldly citizenship for heavenly asylum.” Those who are “all-in” as worldly citizens have eternal issues with the Lord Jesus Christ, and those who are in Christ have temporal issues in the world.
Under what other circumstance would Paul and Silas have come into contact with a jailer? Sometimes believers experience trouble in order that non-believers have the opportunity to see a believer who demonstrates faith in a great God.
This chapter is the continuation of Paul’s journey in Chapter 15. We can call it the second missionary journey. Paul was going around churches delivering the message of the Jerusalem council.
